So many people have wished the 2024 travelers safe travels. Their prayers were answered when we safely arrived in Grand Bahama and checked into our hotel. No lost luggage, no lost travelers and no adverse weather. Truly a blessing.
The mood among the travelers arriving at Port Columbus in the middle of the night was mostly cheery despite the hour. Anticipation overcame weariness and the excitement of finally actually getting underway was significant.
Many of us knew each other from previous trips, but some new faces met us, both in Columbus and when we arrived, along with friends we haven’t seen since our last visit. As one traveler commented “we just got off the plane and within 5 minutes Jenny knows somebody…”
Settling in, unpacking, and perhaps a little catching up on sleep rounded out our first day. Tomorrow we will lay out the rest of what we will be doing and unpack the pallets we sent from Columbus at the Children’s Home. Tomorrow will be a busy day but for now, catching up on sleep is the first order of business. More to come…
